Kaji Music, LLC is an independent entertainment company focusing on music, film, and print projects with three locations in Okinawa, Hawaii, and Tacoma (Washington). We strive to help artists achieve their dreams by assisting in their developmental process. We particularly believe in helping the marginalized and underrepresented gain greater recognition. Our non-profit sister organization, the Peace For Okinawa Coalition, helps advance the rights of indigenous peoples.
Our origins come from Rob Kajiwara's article "Where Hope Resides," published on Christmas Day 2010 documenting his observations about the role that Hope the dog plays as a connection between his grandparents and to the community. The article was critically acclaimed, and can be considered Kajiwara's break through success as an artist / creator. Hope the dog quickly became a staple in the community, famous for his daily bicycle rides with Grandpa, and became known as Kajiwara's sidekick, cementing himself as our mascot and lead brand ambassador. Book and film adaptations of "Where Hope Resides" are currently being developed. Hope's charm eventually led to the formation of the "Gotta Have Hope (TM)" program, dedicated to Hope, Kitkat the cat, and their other animal friends. An animated series titled "Hope's Heroes (TM)" is also in development, promoting Kaji Music's values of love, hope, and friendship.
We officially started in 2011 doing small jobs here and there mostly for fun, and eventually grew to music production and streaming in 2018, then expanded into producing music videos and documentaries in 2023. In 2018 Kajiwara and Hope again gained acclaim for their role in starting and promoting a petition to save Okinawa's coral reef, which received over 212,000 signatures, including endorsements from the world-renown rockstar Brian May, guitarist of the rock band Queen, along with the Okinawan fashion icon Ryuchell and the Japanese idol Rola.
In 2023 Kajiwara landed a major contract with a UN-affiliated organization to produce the film and soundtrack of the documentary film, Occupied Okinawa. The film has been shown in the United States, Okinawa, China, the Philippines, and Switzerland. In 2025 the sequel, Occupied Okinawa Part 2, was shot. Additionally, the short films, "Peace Street, Okinawa" and "A World Without War" were also shot between 2023-2025.
We currently have over 200,000+ followers and average around 10 million monthly views, with our peak of 17 million views in February 2025.
